Ray Dalio is one of the most successful hedge fund managers in the world, and he runs the biggest fund on the planet at Bridgewater Associates, which boasts $141 billion in assets under management. In 2012, Time Magazine listed Dalio as one of the world's 100 most influential people, and Bloomberg Markets Magazine put him in their 2012 list of the top 50 most influential people. Bridgewater's "Daily Observations" newsletter, featuring views from Dalio, is pretty highly sought after in market circles – but on the Bridgewater website, there is a library of economic/investment white papers authored by Dalio available freely for download. Dalio said at the Davos conference in January that 2013 is likely to be a transition year, where large amounts of cash will move to stock and all sorts of stuff – goods, services, and financial assets.
